Giants Ridge is a four season vacation destination located in northern Minnesota. Features include year round activities for the whole family, including golfing, skiing, snowboarding, hiking and more.
Requirements
The Marketing Director of Giants Ridge reached out to Old Saw Media with a need to develop story-based videos to promote the plethora of recreational activities available during all four seasons.
Solution
After discussing Giants Ridge’s needs, initial concepts and their target audience for the campaign, we came up with a solution to create story-based testimonials from the perspective of those who know Giants Ridge like no one else does - their staff and some of their most loyal customers. The objective of these testimonials was to uncover the deeper reasons why they continue to choose Giants Ridge, as a place to bring their family, share with their friends, and build their careers. We called the campaign #GiantMemories and its target audience were families in the Twin Cities.
In addition to the story-based videos we agreed that photography for each of the shoots would be a great way to build out their new website as well as for social media and billboards for the upcoming season.

TV SPOTS
The Giants Ridge video content was designed to be multi-purpose and future proof. After the initial deliverables had been completed, Giants Ridge reached out about creating TV Spots with existing footage. Pulling original shots from the archives and developing a narrative for each, we were able to create 5 TV commercials that were used during the winter season, MN Boys State High School Hockey Tournament and The Masters .
BILLBOARDS
Some of the photos that we were created were used as billboards along I-35 headed north to from the twin cities, in Duluth and on the iron-range of northern MN.
Social Ads
By repurposing an existing voiceover recording from one of the summer golf story-based videos, we were able to create two 20 second, targeted social ads for Instagram & Facebook.
LOGO Animation
Even though it wasn't requested, we made the deliberate choice to incorporate a simple yet effective logo animation within the video. This animation seamlessly integrated into the videos.
